Emitting a light that is �3 times brighter than ordinary halogen bulbs, HID lights greatly assist the driver in providing a clearer and expanded view of what is ahead. Subsequently, HID kits contribute to driver confidence, making for a more relaxed and safe drive. HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. These lights are incredibly bright, far more than I even expected. There are a couple reasons they're only getting four stars, however. First off, they don't look very white. They have a very distinctive blue color, actually, seems more like 5000k lights to me. Second reason may or may not be the kit's fault, I'm not really sure. There are two ways to connect the lights; you can use the extension connected to the bulbs from the factory connection to the ballast, or connect the two directly. One of my lights did not work when connected through that short extension piece, however I also suspect that it's because my truck was not running, therefore there wasn't enough voltage. They both started right up when my truck was running, though.

I actually ordered the 9005 bulbs by accident, as they are high beams. I had planned on switching both high and low to HID lights anyway, so I kept them. They put more light on the road in front, as well as all around, than even my silverstar lowbeam lights.

EDIT: The bulbs are much less blue now when turned on. They still have a blue tint, but the road itself looks whiter now, as do the signs that the lights reflect off of.
