I purchased the towpower 74344 for use towing a Jeep wrangler. Installation is pretty straightforward and the only complicated part is fabricating or installing the mounting tabs if your vehicle does not have a suitable bumper. Since my Jeep has an adequately beefy and flat front bumper it didn't need anything else fabricated, but your vehicle may since a lot of modern bumpers are thin metal covered in plastic. You can probably figure out the installation without them, but read the instructions. There are a couple steps that are important like setting the spring load on the ball socket, and ensuring the tow bar sits close to level between the two vehicles along with some tips about setting up the vehicle to tow. Overall this product worked very well for me and I used it to tow my wrangler over 600 miles up and over the blue mountain range with no issues whatsoever. If you have a vehicle that is safe to flat tow this is a way cheaper option than renting a dolly or a trailer. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that you should use safety chains for safety, and to obey the law. Although the tow bars have holes for the chains it did not include any u-bolts or other hardware to secure a chain or cable, which a 5 star product would have. One other note - a couple reviewers complained that the recommended max speed rating for this bar was too low to be useful. I can assure you this rating is for liability only, not a functional limit. If you doubt this go to a uhaul rental outlet and look at the professional tow dolly setups and trailers that have big stickers saying max speed 45 or max speed 55, then think how many times you were passed by one on a freeway.
