GLX Copter Style Open Face Motorcycle Helmet (Portofino Green, Medium) Review

This helmet is certainly not my favorite. I have collected a few helmets over the pase two years of riding. Some I like better than others. This one isn't a favorite.

It fits pretty true-to-size, which makes my medium a little bit larger than I'd prefer. This style has run small for me in the past, so I ordered medium. I'm a big small or a small medium in helmets. In most "Euro" style helmets, small is too small for me. In this case, I might have liked it better. The zipper holding the removable neck curtain had the tab broken off, making it difficult to reattach. I don't anticipate doing that much anyway, so I didn't bother returning for replacement. The curved plastic guard in the center of the visor is VERY distracting and blocks vision somewhat. Fortunately, it's easy to remove with a screwdriver and the visor is has just two small holes where it attaches. BIG IMPROVEMENT! This helmet is pretty noisy at highway speeds, which makes helmet bluetooth pretty hard to use. I will probably use this helmet for short local trips and use one of my other, quieter, helmets for highway touring in the future.

It IS very attractive. The color is beautiful and the curved visor looks good.
