Upgrade your headlights and improve your night vision on the road with Kensun HID (High Intensitiy Discharge) Xenon headlights. Emitting a light that is 3 times brighter than ordinary halogen bulbs, HID lights greatly assist the driver in providing a clearer and expanded view of what is ahead. Subsequently, HID kits contribute to driver confidence, making for a more relaxed and safe drive. HID lights have a glass chamber of gas that replaces the filament of traditional halogen light bulbs. The gas is ignited with an approximately 23,000 volt charge and stays illuminated by a constant 12v source that is provided by a ballast which is connected directly to your battery. Remarkably, HID lights are able to provide greater light output with much less power consumption. Studies show that a 35 watt HID lamp produces 3 times as much light compared to a 55 watt halogen bulb. I bought two Kensun kits for a buddy of mine to replace his fog and headlights. The kits got here quick and were well packaged. The "metal" is gimmicky as it is super low quality and destined for the trash bin. The kits installed with relative ease. We found that a 2" x 3" piece of industrial velcro worked the best for mounting the ballasts as we were limited on where we could mount them. Most of the connectors were decent quality except for the main connector that the existing headlight plug plugs into as it is cheap thin plastic and we had issues with some of the wires pushing out the back.

Also between the two kits we had a couple issues once we finished install. The first and easiest was one of the headlights wouldn't work. After checking everything we thought it was a faulty component. As a last ditch we checked for ground continuity and found that although we thought we were on a metal chasis ground it was in fact a fiberglass fender. Word of advice would be to always check your ground BEFORE you put everything back together. We also had to reverse the wiring on the signal plug as per his vehicle the high/low was reversed.

The fog light set didn't work at all at first. Upon contacting Kensun they recommended to flip the plugs reverse of how they would seem they need to go for the lock tabs to work. This fixed one of them. We contacted Kensun again and they had us swap bulbs to see what part was defective. It turned out the ballast was bad. Kensun sent one out immediately via ground mail at no cost.

In regards to their support, they were very helpful and relatively fast in their responses. As mentioned they replaced faulty parts with no resistance and in my eyes back up their product.

The actual lighting is good. These 8000k are obviously a good but on the blue side of the spectrum so beware as they are illegal for roadway/highway use. We have had a good number of tickets issued in our area for illegal HIDs. To avoid that but still get good light consider a lesser Kelvin like the 4500K bulbs. That is closer to what OEM HIDs put out.

All in all these are decent kits for the money. They are no frills but are backed by good customer service.
