With a name like Diamond Plate, one could conjure up thoughts of plate steel; or something metallic at the very least. The only metal is in the mount. The cup is plastic. Sure, it looks nice when shined up but I wouldn't suggest being to forceful when loading an over-sized coke, or you may unintentionally deep-six the entire apparatus.

Does it work? Sure, but it does move around a bit. This is purely a case of getting what you pay for. Hope this helps. ...JR
