All ASV levers feature a special pivot design that allows the lever to fold out of harms way in the event of a crash or tip-over of the bike. Instead of bending or breaking, ASV levers simply pivot outward when impact occurs, and spring back instantly. The pivot junction uses a pair of high quality chrome steel, ABEC rated precision sealed bearings for years of smooth operation and zero "play" or "slop". A special high-tension chrome silicon cantilever spring returns the lever back to its original position instantly and does not allow the lever to pivot at all while riding. This high quality spring is rated for over 100,000 rotations without losing it's original tension. All ASV levers feature an adjustable reach. By simply adjusting a setscrew on the lever, the reach (distance from the handle bar to the lever) can be adjusted to accommodate the smallest to the largest hands. A specially designed acorn style lock nut keeps the setscrew secured in your desired position and is out of harms way. All ASV levers use the same high quality components including chrome steel precision sealed bearings, stainless steel pivot and bushing parts, chrome silicon cantilever springs, aerospace grade stainless steel and chromoly fasteners, and specially designed and manufactured fasteners. Honestly, my stock levers were fine, just a bit bulky and gaudy looking. I just thought I "needed" or maybe I just "wanted" levers for my bike because they sell them :) Although, 3 things that I've gained with the ASV levers.

1) They look fantastic - I bought the F3 and really wished the F5 wasn't $60 more because I do like the matte black look but its not a deal breaker. The gloss actually matches my R6 Raven better to be honest.

2) Adjustable - this is a huge plus. The micro thumb adjustment (unlike the multi-position adjustments on others like pazzo, CRG etc.) are remarkable. I can get exact positioning of the lever with this setup.

3) Break-a-way design - no one plans on laying their bike over, but if you do, then these levers will break-a-way or fold away and hinge back. This is great insurance to have as levers really aren't cheap. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) with CRG levers you have to buy their $$$flagship lever$$$ to get the folding break-a-way mechanism.

I know a lot of peeps are buying the Chinese $30 levers and I have to admit I about bought some just to check them out but I figured I'd just go with the ones I liked better for more money. Also the brake and clutch is something I really probably shouldn't go cheap on ;) Although they may have turned out to be great, I don't know. I think the ASV is the best lever manufacture out there for us consumer riders and maybe even track riders. Highly recommended.
