Camco 45761 RV 8'-10' ULTRAGuard Pop-Up Camper Cover (46"H x 87"W) Review

I heard somewhere that you should buy a cover a foot longer than your box if you have an AC on top, which I do on my 12' Coleman Tacoma ('03). Not good advice, at least with this cover. Even with the large AC unit, this cover overhangs the front and back of my roof by about a foot each, based on the seams where the "top" fabric (heavier) is sewed onto the "ends." I think the 10-12 footer would've been a better fit. But, having said that, when it's strapped on it still looks OK (covers the propane tanks and most of the tongue; not a bad thing) and feels pretty secure. It didn't move around during the first big wind of the fall, and the shorter cover seems to be back-ordered through Amazon, so I'll keep it.

Otherwise, nice cover. Feels like quality fabric, good tie downs, etc. Just err on the side of shorter rather than longer.

UPDATE, two years later: This cover has weathered two wet/windy seasons very well. There's some signs of wear-through on the front, but only because, as the cover is oversized, I have stretched it all the way over the tongue, which its' not designed to do, but keeps it in an aerodynamic shape. When it wears out after another year or two I would definitely buy another -- a size smaller. It's well made, and my trailer comes out looking shiny and new in the spring, in spite of the fact that the cover looks pretty weathered. Good product, and the straps work great.

UPDATE UPDATE: After two years-plus use, my cover started leaking on the top. OK, it took some abuse over that time. I ordered a new one last week, except went one size down (10-12')for my 12-foot trailer, given that the 12-14 was so HUGE. The cover arrived with a small tear in the storage bag (no big deal, I figured) and a blemish on one corner. Went to install and the cover was not even close to large enough (has the size been adjusted?) And without even pulling the cover over all four corners, the blemish on that one corner turned into a large rip. Great. Sending it back. In the process of boxing it up, went to stuff it back into the stuff sack (same fabric as sides of cover), and the small slice in that fabric ripped wide open, like wet cardboard. I'm not sure if they've switched fabrics or what, but this thing didn't last 5 minutes out of the box. Not sure whether I will order another larger one, and hope for the best, or just look elsewhere. The cover I received was definitely not ready for prime time, and I now question the sizing. Speaking of which: How can covers runnning the gamut in size from an 8' trailer to a 16' trailer ALL by 46-by-87 inches, as indicated in the documentation? Bottom line: Getting one of these to be the right size based on the info here is a complete and total crapshoot. Good luck.
